Court to rule on Zamfara APC primaries dispute August 31

A Federal High Court successful Gusau has fixed August 31, 2026, to present judgement successful a suit challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial superior predetermination successful Zamfara North.

The lawsuit was filed by APC senatorial aspirant Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi against the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Senator Sahabi Ya’u, who was declared the victor of the superior election.

During Friday’s tribunal session, some the plaintiff and the defendants adopted their last written addresses.

After reviewing the submissions, the proceedings judge, Justice Hassan Dikko, adjourned the lawsuit and fixed August 31, 2026, for judgment.

Shinkafi is asking the tribunal to find the legality of the APC superior predetermination held for the Zamfara North Senatorial District.
