Edo 2024: Ogie becomes the running partner for Ighodalo.

City of Benin—Following the declaration by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that Mr. Osarodion Ogie, the Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), will be running partner for Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the party’s candidate for governor, several state-wide members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are expected to defect and join the PDP.

According to insiders, the APC is experiencing a crisis as a result of its governorship candidate’s rise, even after President Bola Tinubu intervened and the matter was resolved.

“We are glad to work for the PDP with Osarodion Ogie’s emergence because our interests would be protected,” an APC chief stated. We’ve worked with him previously, we know him, and we’re prepared to dismantle the APC in order to make room for him.

“We have no choice but to cast a large number of ballots in favor of Osarodion Ogie, who has been calm and wise in his service to the state from Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s tenure to this point, given what is happening in the APC.”

Ighodalo’s candidacy is approved by Okpebholo’s dynasty.

Concurrently, the family of Rev. Matthew Okpebholo, a preacher and philanthropist, has supported Ighodalo.
It is said that during Ighodalo’s weekend visit to Bishop Okpebholo, a senior family member, the decision to support him was made.
