EFCC arraigns fake car dealer over alleged  N15.4m fraud in Enugu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Directorate, has arraigned 1 Chukwuebuka Ogbonna earlier Justice Vincent C. Ezeugwu of the Enugu State High Court.

Ogbonna was arraigned connected a four-count complaint bordering connected stealing by conversion to the tune of N15, 400, 000.

The tribunal said that the offence is contrary to Section 342 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 30, Enugu State and punishable nether Section 353 (1) of the aforesaid Law.

Meanwhile, the suspect pleaded not blameworthy to the charges erstwhile they were work to him.    

In presumption of his plea, counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Ajobiewe, prayed the tribunal for a proceedings day and for the suspect to beryllium remanded astatine the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, successful Enugu.

The substance was thereafter adjourned to July 16, 2026 for proceeding of bail exertion and the suspect was remanded astatine the Commission’s facility.

The suspect was arrested, pursuing claims of a petitioner that helium paid him N15.4m,  sometime successful October 2023,   to assistance him successful importing 3 cars.
