Ekiti court jails woman 14 years for stealing newborn

An Ekiti State High Court successful Ado-Ekiti has sentenced 37-year-old Deborah Ayeni to 14 years successful situation for stealing a newborn baby.

Ayeni, however, was not contiguous successful tribunal erstwhile Justice Lekan Olatawura delivered the judgment, having failed to look for proceedings aft she was granted bail. The tribunal consequently declared her a fugitive and ordered information agencies to facilitate her arrest.

Justice Olatawura directed the tribunal registrar to nonstop copies of the judgement and a missive declaring Ayeni wanted to the Nigeria Police, the Comptroller-General of Customs and the media.

The justice ruled that the 14-year condemnation would statesman from the day Ayeni is arrested.

The tribunal besides ordered Ayeni’s 2 sureties, including her father, Babatope Ebenezer Ayeni, to service six months successful situation for failing to nutrient her successful tribunal and to wage the prescribed recognisance fees.

The sanctions followed the revocation of Ayeni’s bail aft she failed to look earlier the tribunal to look the complaint against her.
