A witnesser of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr Okpoziakpo Eloho, on Thursday told a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, that the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, did not payment from the $6,230,000, reportedly stolen from the apex bank.
The witness, a Commissioner of Police astatine the Fraud Unit of the Force Headquarters, Abuja, admitted that determination was nary grounds that Emefiele benefitted from the loot either successful currency oregon successful transportation into his relationship by those who admitted stealing the money.
Eloho made the clarification during transverse introspection by Mathew Burka, SAN, pb counsel to the defendant.
Emefiele is being prosecuted by the anti-graft bureau connected alleged procurement fraud and maltreatment of bureau earlier Justice Hamza Muazu.
