Female students’ hostel razed by fire in Jigawa

A occurrence outbreak has razed a pistillate students’ hostel astatine the College of Health Technology successful Jahun, Jigawa State, affecting 52 students.

The incident, reportedly caused by a cooking state cylinder, destroyed the hostel and the idiosyncratic belongings of the students.

The Jigawa State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad Kainuwa, who visited the scene, confirmed that firefighters successfully brought the blaze nether control, preventing further damage.

Following the incident, the affected students person been granted a six-day break.

Jahun Local Government Council Chairman, Malam Jamilu Muhammad Dan Malam, said the assembly has arranged proscription to convey the students to their respective homes and is exploring ways to enactment those affected.

He added that the State Emergency Management Agency is expected to supply alleviation materials, including covering and mattresses, to cushion the interaction of the fire.

No casualties were reported.
