The Federal Ministry of Works, Anambra State Field Headquarters, has officially announced the closure of the First Niger Bridge successful Onitsha for the commencement of repair works.
The closure is coming aft past week’s sojourn by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, who inspected a vandalised conception of the bridge, wherever bolts and robust rods had been stolen by scavengers.
An authoritative property merchandise by the ministry’s tract bureau successful Anambra, signed by the State Controller, Mr Timothy Emenike, noted that the span would beryllium closed for 2 weeks, starting Monday, 7 September 2026.
