Lagos Assembly approves State Police Bill

The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (Sixth Alteration) Bill, 2026, joining 24 different authorities legislatures successful supporting the projected amendment and paving the mode for its presumption to President Bola Tinubu for assent.

The lawmakers approved the measure during Tuesday’s plenary, presided implicit by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, pursuing its transmission by the National Assembly for concurrence.

The improvement forms portion of the ongoing law reappraisal process, nether which the National Assembly forwarded the projected amendment to each 36 State Houses of Assembly for information and approval.
