Lagos warns consumers as sellers allegedly alter expiry dates on products

The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, has warned consumers astir expired and near-expired products allegedly being sold with altered accumulation and expiry dates successful markets and retail outlets crossed the state.

The bureau raised the alarm implicit the alleged manipulation of merchandise dates, saying devices and chemicals utilized to erase and reprint accumulation and expiry dates are reportedly being circulated online.

LASCOPA said the improvement could marque it easier for unsafe products to beryllium returned to the marketplace and sold to unsuspecting consumers.

The General Manager/CEO of LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo, said the signifier posed a superior hazard to consumers and violated the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency Law, 2025, arsenic amended.
