Lawan Ahmed Mohammed emerges 17th Emir of Gumel

Dr Lawan Ahmed Mohammed, archetypal lad of the precocious Emir of Gumel, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, has been appointed the 17th Emir of Gumel Emirate.

The assignment was approved by the Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, pursuing the proposal of the Gumel Emirate Council kingmakers and the Jigawa State Council of Chiefs.

The Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, disclosed this portion briefing journalists aft the enactment process.

He said the enactment followed extended consultations by the kingmakers among 9 contenders for the accepted stool.

According to him, 3 of the 9 aspirants aboriginal withdrew from the contest, leaving six candidates to enactment successful the enactment process.

At the archetypal signifier of voting, 3 candidates emerged and proceeded to the adjacent round. They were the Chiroman Gumel, Tafidan Gumel and Sarkin Dawaki.

Their names were subsequently forwarded to the Jigawa State Council of Chiefs, which submitted the 3 names to Governor Namadi for the last decision.
