The G5 will strive for Nigeria’s unity as the nation prepares for elections, according to Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu and some party chieftains paid Makinde a visit in Ibadan on Thursday as part of a rally in the state. Makinde is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The leader of Oyo, who is a member of the G5 of the PDP (displeased governors of the main opposition party), claimed that the Integrity Group wants to keep the nation united.

He declared, “The Integrity Group has stated that if forced to choose between the unity of this nation and our objectives, we will pick the unity of this nation.”

He asserts that despite the existence of numerous political parties and candidates, everyone must make sure they act with the country’s unity in mind.

This becomes more significant to him because “political parties will disappear if the country does not survive.”
