The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has recently flagged several malicious apps targeting Android users in Nigeria. These apps are designed to infiltrate devices, steal sensitive information, and compromise user privacy.

As cybercriminals grow more sophisticated, it is essential for individuals to stay vigilant and informed about potential threats. Malicious apps often disguise themselves as legitimate software, offering attractive features or services to lure unsuspecting users into downloading them. Once installed, these apps can conduct harmful activities such as data theft, unauthorized access to personal information, and financial fraud.

By staying aware of these threats and practising safe mobile habits, Nigerians can protect their devices and personal data from cyberattacks. The apps identified by NITDA as carrying malware are:

  1. Crazy Game
  2. Sexy Videos
  3. TikToks
  4. Weapons

NITDA urges users to avoid these apps and to adopt secure mobile practices to safeguard against cyber threats.
