The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has disowned a viral announcement claiming that a peculiar model for corps members’ redeployment was open.
The strategy flagged the announcement arsenic fake connected its verified X grip connected Friday.
The fraudulent notice, titled “URGENT NOTICE: NYSC REDEPLOYMENT”, was addressed to “Parents/Guardians” and claimed that the redeployment model was “now open” owed to “issues of National Security, Health, and State of the Nation.”
It urged “Corps Members with genuine grounds” to “apply connected clip to guarantee their safety, due placement, and timely completion of service.”
The announcement besides asked those seeking assistance to “please contact” 2 listed telephone numbers “ASAP”, adding that “valid documents are required and each applications indispensable travel NYSC guidelines.”
In response, the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters flagged the announcement connected its verified X handle, @officialnyscng, tagging it “Disclaimer” and stamping it with a bold “FAKE NEWS” watermark to pass the nationalist against the circulating message.
