‘Plateau govt must compensate us if it wants peace’ – Fulani group

An advocacy group, nether the aegis of Voice of Fulani, has demanded monetary compensation from the Plateau State Government for what it described arsenic years of killings of its people, demolition of their communities and rustling of their livestock crossed the state.

The group, which made the request successful a communiqué issued astatine the extremity of its legislature gathering successful Jos connected Friday, said Fulani radical successful Plateau State had suffered years of attacks, demolition of spot and displacement from assorted communities. 

It added that those incidents had affected their well-being and disrupted their means of livelihood, warranting compensation from the authorities government.

The communiqué, signed by the convener of the group, Alhassan Lamido, emphasised that for implicit 2 decades, Fulani radical successful assorted communities, peculiarly successful Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Mangu, Bassa, Bokkos, Jos South and Jos East Local Government Areas of the state, had suffered attacks allegedly carried retired by natives, particularly section militia gangs.
