Police arrest suspected car theft kingpin, recover stolen vehicle in Mowe

Operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command person arrested a suspected conveyance theft kingpin, Mosuru Issa, 28, and recovered a stolen Toyota Camry.

Issa was arrested during a stop-and-search cognition on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday at astir 7:30 a.m.

DAILY POST learnt that erstwhile the operatives flagged down the wine-coloured Camry during the regular check, the 3 occupants abandoned the conveyance and fled.

According to a connection issued by the Police Public Relations Office, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the operatives chased them, arrested Issa, and secured the vehicle.

Babaseyi stated that preliminary probe revealed that the car was stolen connected September 7, 2026, from wherever it was parked successful Ojo, Lagos State.

The PPRO said efforts are ongoing to find the proprietor of the conveyance and apprehension the fleeing accomplices.

He said the lawsuit has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives for their vigilance and reaffirmed the command’s committedness to proactive policing to curb conveyance theft and road crime.
