Police foil attack on Borno APC governorship candidate’s convoy

The Nigeria Police Force says its tactical squad foiled an onslaught connected the convoy of Mustapha Gubio, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaigner successful Borno State, and different governmental figures.

The incidental occurred connected Thursday on the Kareto-Damasak roadworthy successful Borno State.

According to the police, terrorists attacked the convoy with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs). 

“The tactical squad forced the terrorists to retreat into the surrounding bush and subsequently scanned and cleared the contiguous axis to neutralise secondary explosive threats,” the constabulary said.

The information squad past searched and cleared the country to guarantee determination were nary further explosives earlier moving the convoy to a harmless location.

“The convoy, conveying a gubernatorial aspirant, authorities officials and governmental stakeholders, was safely evacuated to a unafraid determination with nary casualties recorded among members of the entourage,” the constabulary said.
