Police storm cult meeting in Umuahia, apprehend suspects

Abia State Police Command has said that operatives of its Violent Crime Response Unit, VCRU, arrested 3 members of a  suspected transgression pack successful Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA.

The Command said that the suspects were nabbed on July 6, 2027, aft it received actionable quality that a suspected transgression pack numbering astir 50 had gathered successful Ubakala for cult activities.

A connection signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Maureen Chinaka, connected Friday said operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit, VCRU, Olokoro, instantly raced to the scene.

The connection said 3 suspected pack members – Obioma Nmeribe, Emmanuel Lekwechi and Ikemefula ThankGod Amadi, were apprehended by the p8olice.

The constabulary spokesperson listed the exhibits recovered from the arrested suspects to see 1 Beretta pistol with 8 rounds, 1 locally- made pistol, 2 unrecorded cartridges, 1 unrecorded ammunition, 2 achromatic berets, a cutlass and 1 digger.

In a related development, the Abia State Police Command said successful collaboration with officers of the associated information squad (Operation Crush), apprehended a 31-year-old  suspect, Bright Nnabugu of Umuobasi, Ugwunagbo LGA of Abia State.
