Zac Stacy, a former NFL player, was given a 6-month prison term for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
A court in Orange County, Florida has sentenced NFL star Zac Stacy to six months in jail and a year of probation for two separate assaults on his ex-girlfriend.
The mother of his child, Kristin Evans, allegedly handed detectives a video showing Stacy beating her at her Central Florida home in 2021, leading to his arrest, according to the authorities.
According to investigators, security footage from inside the house showed Stacy striking Evans several times before he flung her into a television and into the ground.
Early this month, Stacy, 31, agreed to a plea bargain in the domestic violence case in exchange for the dismissal of some charges.
Evans wanted the judge to merely give Stacy a probationary period. The state requested a year in jail, though. The court split the difference, deciding on six months in jail and two years of probation with counseling and other programs after describing the video footage as frightening.
Once a video of the occurrence was shown to the court, both parties once more watched. Evans was required to detail what had occurred, how she had been harmed, and how the attack had affected her. Stacy and Evans have since begun to divide custody of their son.
Furthermore, Stacy testified in front of the court. He was able to directly apologize to Evans in front of the judge for what he had done.
