2023 Election
Kwara SDP declines to ally with the APC in the governorship election.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has declined to join a coalition against the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the state’s Saturday governorship election in light of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara state’s direction last week that all opposition parties in the state would do so.
Presidential candidate of the party, Prince Adewole Adebayo speaking with journalists following a meeting with SDP leaders and supporters in Ilorin on Monday, said that the SDP is in the race to win elections, “not only in Kwara state but across the country”.
Why are we merging, exactly? We’re here to change things. in order for Nigerians to recognize the distinction between black and white. We’re not attempting to blend black and white to get grey and further muddle them. Individuals have the right to make decisions.
“SDP aims to hold office, to be dependable and accessible to the public. So, we would stop revolving poverty, insecurity, and rigging around once people understood the necessity to address these issues as well as Nigerian residents’ rights. To advance the nation, any reputable political party may affiliate with SDP, but forget it—we are not doing so.
He continued, “The SDP will win the next election. We can move a mountain if we work together and diligently. For us, March 11 will represent victory.
Adebayo, who expressed doubt on the results of the presidential election, claimed that Nigeria won’t advance unless all relevant parties acknowledge the importance of combating poverty and insecurity.
Truthfulness is crucial. Any process lacking honesty will ultimately fall apart, and nobody will enjoy it. Neither the victor nor the losers are having fun. Nigerians are in search of administration and leadership. Yet we’re experiencing a crisis.
