We’re Making Progress in Security: The Kogi Government Speaks Out Regarding the Monarch’s Kidnapping

The Traditional Ruler of Aghara Bunu in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Chief David Obadofin, was abducted on Wednesday. The Kogi State Government broke its silence on the matter on Wednesday, calling the incident “horrendous, criminal, and reprehensible.”

The administration added that there has been tremendous progress in locating the alleged masterminds of the horrible deed.

The State Government is collaborating with security agencies, according to a statement released in Lokoja on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, to ensure those responsible for the attack and kidnapping face the full force of the law.

The State Government will stop at nothing to make sure we find the source of the attack and also make sure the masterminds are brought to justice. The attack on the previously very peaceful community of Aghara Bunu in the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area by coward anti-socials, which resulted in the reported killing of a woman and the kidnapping of the community’s traditional ruler as well as a young lady, is condemnable.

“Although we would prefer not to disclose too much about ongoing investigations, we do want to note that significant progress has been made and that suspects who have been captured are providing helpful information to law enforcement officials.

“Investigation reports will be made public, and offenders will be prosecuted. To both prevent and swiftly address any violation of the peace, the Kogi State Government will continue to bolster its anti-crime infrastructure. The government has a duty to protect its residents, and we will never waver in our determination to preserve their lives and property.

“We express our condolences to the families of the victims and urge the community to work with law enforcement to solve the mystery behind the attack.

Once more rising to the challenge, our local security units sprang into action to secure the release of one of the abducted victims. We appreciate their efforts, as well as those of the traditional security organizations like the DSS, Police, NSCDC, and others.
