2023 Election
We Will Not Allow Governorship Election Rigging – Niger PDP Candidate
Liman Kantigi, the People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, has vowed that the party will not allow the March 11 governorship election in the state to be rigged.
Kantigi told journalists in Minna that the presidential election last Saturday was clearly rigged in favor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He did, however, promise that the governorship election in the North-Central state would be a different story because Nigerians are fully prepared for local elections.
“We will not allow any rigging of the governorship election on March 11, and we will not allow the BVAS Machine to be bypassed as they did last Saturday,” he said.
“We will defend our votes until the very end. You cannot make people vote for you. What occurred during the Presidential election cannot be repeated. We’ll checkmate them, marching them fire for fire.
“What they did last Saturday they cannot have it again, we are fully prepared for any attempt to subvert the will of the people of Niger state come Saturday, March 11, 2023, because we will resist them. You can’t impose yourself on people.”
While expressing confidence in his victory in Saturday’s governorship election, the state’s two-time local government chairman emphasized that the election is an opportunity for the people of the state to rewrite the wrongs of the previous eight years of APC administration in the state.
