Lagos Agrees To Bring Charges Against Nightclub Employees Who Assail LASEPA Officials
The management of a nightclub in the Lekki neighborhood of Lagos State has promised to face charges for attacking representatives of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA).
Staff members of the club were seen assaulting agency officials who were on assignment in a widely shared video.
However, Kunle Adeshina, the agency’s director of public affairs, announced hours after the development that the company had been sealed and that individuals responsible would face legal action.
He posted on his X account on Sunday, “The State Environmental Protection Agency has resealed the premises of 10 POT Night Club at 2A Admiralty Way Lekki 1 following the breakage of the seal earlier placed on the premises.”
According to the statement, “this is just as the State Task Force on Environmental Offenses officers took the 11 arrested employees into custody pending arraignment before a competent court of law who also assaulted LASEPA officials.”
on a similar development, LASEPA announced that as part of its efforts to “combat noise pollution,” it had sealed a hotel on the state’s Victoria Island region.
“The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has taken action today, Sunday, October 15, 2023, by closing the New View Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. LASEPA stated, “This measure is a component of the agency’s ongoing efforts to resolve environmental breaches and prevent noise pollution.
